"When Gavia Travel was founded, by a couple of Icelandic birders, the aim was to start a full-time birdwatching travel agency, which was to be Iceland's first of its kind. Soon though we realized by the feedback we got from our clients that there was not only a need for a full-time Birdwatching agency in Iceland, but also a Wildlife-watching one with pre-organized and scheduled Nature and Wildlife tours. Therefore Gavia Travel evolved into being a more general Nature and Wildlife agency than entirely a Birdwatching one. Beside organizing birding and birdphotography tours and workshops for foreign travel agencies, organizations, professional photographers and individuals Gavia Travel offers variety of pre-organized Birdwatching experiences in Iceland.  These pre-organized tours consist of four types of 4-day tours, two types of 6-day tours and two 12-day tours. The 6-day tours are run back-to-back meaning that visitors can go on more than one trip and extend their trip to up to 12 days.
