Reykjanes Day Tour
“Walk the bridge between Europe and America”

Reykjanes Peninsula is an exciting area on the margin of the Eurasian and North American plates, directly located on the Mid-Atlantic ridge. It’s a mysterious and breathtaking area of volcanic rock, lava, fissures and gorges and along the shore the ocean waves sweep unhindered onto the coast.

The birdlife that inhabits the Reykjanes Peninsula is quite spectacular. Species such as Harlequin Ducks, Great Northern Divers, Horned Grebes, Northern Gannets, Great Cormorants, Kittiwakes, Arctic Terns all species of guillemots and Razorbills are among the bird species that might be seen during the day. A fantastic tour with a great combination of breathtaking nature and interesting birds! An Arctic Tern by Hrafn Svavarsson

The Lighthouse at Reykjanesta. Note the geothermal area in front of it Drake Harlequin Duck. These ducks are widespread on the Peninsula in the early and late summer Reykjanesta. The south shores at Reykjanes Peninsula show evidentely how the ocean waves of the North Atlantic ocean sweep unhindered on it Hraunsvik. A great spot for Nature- and Wildlifewatching Northern Gannets will be seen flying by during the day as Iceland's largest Northern Gannet colony is on an Island just offshore from Reykjanesta Horned/Slavonian Grebe can still be seen on one lake in the town of Hafnarfjordur despite the fact that it's lake has been encircled by peoples homes. We'll make an effort and see if we can find them

What Our Participants Said About This Tour

"Thank you for this great wildlife experience! I never thought one could actually experience all these things in one day! A daytrip that exceeded my highest expectations!"

"This is the way to go! While we were observing a hotspring area with boiling and spouting hotsprings we saw the big buses hardly stopping and not allowing the people to go out even! I'll always be travelling in smaller groups from now on! Big Thanks to our guide Hrafn for amazing day!"
