"When Gavia Travel was founded by a couple of Icelandic birders, the aim was to start a full-time birdwatching travel agency, which was to be first of its kind in Iceland. Soon though we realized from the feedback we got from our clients that there was not only a need for a full-time Birdwatching agency in Iceland, but also a Wildlife Watching one with scheduled and scheduled Nature and Wildlife tours. Therefore Gavia Travel evolved into being a more general Nature and Wildlife agency than entirely a birdwatching outfit. However, we are still birders by heart, and if there is something we do better than anyone, it is to organize how, where and when to watch birds in Iceland!"
