"The Journey to the Center of the Earth"Common Seal by Yann Kolbeinsson
Words cannot express the mystery, wonder and almost surreal energy of the Snæfellsnes peninsula! The major landmark is the Snæfellsjökull glacier, which is renowned for its mystical powers and has captured the imagination of people all over the world, ever since Jules Verne wrote “The Journey to the Centre of the Earth” in 1871.

The area features extraordinary moorland, meadows, marshland, rivers, streams and small ponds along with beautiful rock formations and sand beaches.

Snaefellsnes Peninsula is without any doubt one of the best places in Iceland for Nature and Wildlife Watching during summer. On this tour we can expect to see a great variety of bird species and among them species such as Harlequin Duck, Atlantic Puffin, Brünnich's Guillemot, Arctic Tern and White-tailed Eagle.

Snaefellsjokull clacier Thick-billed Murre/Brunnich's Guillemot. Is seen at certain areas on Snaefellsnes Peninsula during the summer Northern Fulmar. A species we will be seeing in big numbers during the day At location where we look for seals, both Harbour Seals and Grey Seals are regularly seen resting on rocks in this area Razorbill. A common breeding species in the area and during the day they will be abundant when we visit some of their breeding areas Minke Whales can often be seen feeding just of shore close to the bird cliffs
